COLLECTING MEMORIES
Students from 2D secondary school got to describe some interesting objects they
have at home. They also shared family memories and feelings together with their
stories.
Los estudiantes de 2º D nos muestran algunos objetos de sus hogares o personales
que les traen algún recuerdo especial y otorgan un valor afectivo particular.

“My most treasured possession is a shirt that my grandfather left me. He told me
before he died that this shirt was going to be mine. I don’t know how many years that
shirt has and where it is, the only thing I know is that this shirt is in my house. I saw him
many times with this shirt and when he told me that this shirt would be mine I was
very happy. I can use it because it’s very big, the shirt is made of cotton and is white. I
have another gift that he gave me and it is a mermaid Barbie with blue hair that I have
had since I was 4 years old”.

“My most treasured possession is a Piggy bank,
which used to belong to my great-grandmother.
It was given to me a few days after the Winter-
holidays in 2020, by my Grandmother, because
my Great-grandmother passed away, and I
wanted to have something of her. It is a blue and
white pig, where I keep many coins. I don´t know
where it came from, but I have heard some stories
about it. For example, my great-grandmother
used to collect many coins in it, and sometimes
when my dad visited her, he stole some of them,
but without her knowing, since she didn’t want
anybody to touch it”.

“My most treasured possession is an old phone. It
used to belong to my grandfather. He bought it
in Germany many years ago and he gave it to my
family as a memory. It was used in Germany in the
1st World War in 1914. Soldiers or radio operators
sent messages to each other. It’s covered in
leather, it has a metal stake and it has a board of
wood with a metal phone. It is in the living room
as decoration”.
