A POWERFUL EXPERIENCE ON AND OFF STAGE

Last September 13, we had the pleasure of welcoming the English Educational Theatre
Company Artspot to our school. On that occasion, they presented the play Galileo,
based on the discoveries of the famous Italian scientist. Years 4, 5 and 6 took part in
the experience with enthusiasm, like they do every year. This was the first time for the
students of Year 4, who were eagerly looking forward to the show.

With the aim of strengthening their comprehension levels, students of different ages
worked with their English teachers during the month before the presentation. Several
resources were used, such as songs, word searches, games and even a booklet to
introduce the characters, identify the story sequence, understand the plot and revise
                 specific vocabulary or grammatical structures.

In addition to the linguistic objectives, it is important to note the messages and values
underscored by the stories. Galileo focused on team work to help us reflect on our
everyday actions and the importance of connecting with others to reach beyond our
                 greatest aspirations.
Primary School English Team firmly believes that involvement in these events enriches
the language and strengthens the holistic development of our learners. We look forward
to the return of Artspot to keep enjoying and learning through the magical world of art.
